Stress-Reducing Chunky Pecan-Mucuna Mash-Up

Mucuna is a widely studied herbal medicine that has been shown to decrease anxiety and stress (and boost libido!).

"All parts of the Mucuna plant possess medicinal properties (Sathiyanarayanan and Arulmozhi, 2007). In vitro and in vivo studies on M. pruriens extracts have revealed the presence of substances that exhibit a wide variety of pharmacological effects, including anti-diabetic, anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective and anti-oxidant properties, probably due to the presence of L-dopa, a precursor of the neurotransmitter dopamine (Misra and Wagner, 2007)."

The next time you're feeling stressed, whip up this simple, satisfying snack!

INGREDIENTS:

1/2 cup Raw Grass-Fed Butter (room temperature)
3 tbsp Surthrival Colostrum powder
1 heaping tbsp Mucuna powder
1.5 tbsp Palm sugar
1/4 cup toasted Pecans, roughly chopped
2 tbsp chopped or slivered Cacao Paste
Pinch of Vanilla powder



Use a spoon to mash the Colostrum, sweetener, vanilla, and mucuna together. Once softened and well incorporated, add the chocolate paste and pecans. Eat by the spoonful or spread on a sweet cracker or apple slices.
